Purpose of role The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimising digital marketing strategies across the clients' platforms, with a strong focus on lead generation, inbound demand creation, and customer engagement. This role plays a key part in increasing brand visibility, improving campaign performance, and ensuring the marketing technology stack—particularly HubSpot—is fully aligned with the business’s new Target Operating Model (TOM). Duties and responsibilities CRM & Marketing Automation CRM & Marketing Automation Fully own and manage the HubSpot CRM platform from both a technical and marketing perspective Redevelop and optimise HubSpot in alignment with the new Target Operating Model Build, manage, and improve nurture flows, workflows, dashboards, lead scoring models, and automated email journeys Develop and implement email marketing automation strategies to nurture leads and customers Create, execute, and optimise email campaigns including newsletters, customer communications, seasonal campaigns, and lead generation sequences Maintain CRM data hygiene through data cleansing, archiving, segmentation, and system optimisation Manage CRM integrations and ensure data accuracy across systems Improve lead scoring, segmentation, and campaign targeting to support sales effectiveness Marketing Analytics & Reporting Lead the use of AI-driven customer insights to improve marketing strategy and campaign performance Analyse customer behaviour, engagement, and conversion trends to identify opportunities for growth Track key commercial metrics including revenue contribution, conversions, MQLs, SQLs, and campaign ROI Produce and improve reporting dashboards across HubSpot, website analytics, and Power BI Monitor campaign performance and recommend data-driven improvements to increase lead generation and commercial impact Evaluate how changes to content, campaigns, and website performance impact lead volumes and revenue outcomes Website Management, CRO & SEO Own and manage the website and microsites to ensure alignment with current marketing and business strategy Oversee website performance, usability, navigation, and technical optimisation to improve user experience and conversion rates Build and refine landing pages and microsites using WordPress, Elementor, and HTML to maximise lead capture and engagement Drive conversion rate optimisation (CRO) initiatives to improve landing page performance and lead quality Manage the ongoing website refresh project, including navigation improvements, template redesigns, branding refinement, and technical optimisation Work with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure website content aligns with SEO strategy and brand messaging SEO & Performance Marketing Manage and optimise SEO strategy to improve organic traffic, search rankings, and lead generation Execute keyword research, on-page optimisation, and technical SEO improvements, and content strategies aligned to SEO best practices Use tools such as Google Search Console, GA, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and third-party SEO partners to monitor and improve performance Support performance marketing initiatives across PPC, paid social, and ROI tracking where required Ensure content strategy is aligned to organic growth and lead generation goals Content & Commercial Focus Create engaging, high-converting lead generation copy for emails, landing pages, nurture campaigns, and digital campaigns Support content creation across social campaigns, customer communications, and website content Maintain a strong commercial mindset with a focus on improving lead quality, funnel progression, and revenue contribution Understand the full marketing and sales funnel and continuously optimise digital touchpoints to improve commercial outcomes Skills/Experience Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business or a related field (or equivalent experience). Certifications in HubSpot (Inbound, Marketing, CRM) Advantageous Deep hands‑on experience managing HubSpot CRM at an advanced level, including marketing automation, workflows, lead scoring, reporting, segmentation, integrations, and CRM data hygiene Strong experience redeveloping and optimising CRM systems for commercial performance Proven experience in email marketing, nurture campaign design, and campaign optimisation Strong website management experience using WordPress, Elementor, and HTML Experience building and improving landing pages and microsites with a focus on CRO Strong practical knowledge of SEO including technical SEO, on-page optimisation, keyword research, and organic growth strategy Experience using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Power BI Strong reporting and analytics capability with the ability to connect marketing activity to revenue outcomes Excellent copywriting skills with a focus on lead generation and conversion Strong understanding of funnel performance, campaign ROI, and commercial impact Ability to proactively identify problems and present solutions rather than simply execute tasks Experience within consulting, professional services, SaaS, ERP, CRM, IT services, or technology-led businesses Highly Desirable Experience within consulting or professional services environments Exposure to SaaS or technology businesses Experience working with external digital agencies and SEO partners Knowledge of PPC, social media advertising, and performance marketing channels Strong UX awareness and website optimisation experience Location and hours Johannesburg 09h00 – 18h00 | 10h00 – 19h00 Hybrid Data Privacy Notice The personal information you provide during the application and recruitment process will be used solely for recruitment purposes, in accordance with our data protection policies.
