Company and Job Description: My client is seeking an experienced and analytical Financial Controller to join our finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take ownership of stock control, financial reporting, and commercial finance activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving trading performance, optimising margins, ensuring financial accuracy, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Stock Reporting & Control Process stock adjustments, journals, and related financial entries Reconcile WMS and Pastel systems in collaboration with the National Inventory Manager Support monthly stock counts, audits, and variance analysis Investigate stock discrepancies from a financial control perspective Reconcile inventory valuation to the trial balance on a monthly basis and resolve variances Maintain accurate costing and average cost updates in Pastel Support resolution of all stock-related financial queries and issues Financial Reporting & Analysis Manage liquor Profit & Loss reporting within management accounts Maintain liquor margin analysis and rebate schedules Calculate monthly liquor working capital and labour cost requirements Perform gross profit and P&L movement analysis Calculate rebates, growth incentives, and distribution allowances Support credit control with resolution of claims and debit note queries Prepare audit and annual budgeting inputs Conduct monthly distribution centre financial performance reviews Perform balance sheet reconciliations and support monthly payment processes General Financial & Commercial Support Approve new product listings and price deviations in line with policy Support operations with reporting, reprints, and financial data requests Maintain master trading terms and supplier agreement records Liaise with suppliers on pricing, contracts, and commercial queries Provide daily pricing analysis and sales trend insights Support development and enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) Ensure compliance with supplier reporting requirements Review and interpret trading terms for executive approval Job Experience and Skills Required: BCom Accounting Degree3 - 4 years experience in a similar position.Experience in a stock environment would be beneficialStrong understanding of financial reporting, controls, and compliance frameworksAdvanced MS Excel and accounting system proficiency Apply now!
