Software Engineer - Backend / Golang Location: Hybrid / Remote (Somerset, South Africa) About the Role At CyberSentriq we build secure, cloud native technologies that protect organisations globally. We are expanding our engineering team and looking for a Backend Developer proficient in Go who is passionate about building scalable, secure applications while embracing modern AI‑driven development. As a Backend Developer, you will design, build, and optimise cloud‑based applications that underpin our core cyber security products. You'll work cross‑functionally with Product, Design, QA, and Operations to deliver high‑quality, secure features that directly impact customer experience and platform reliability. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain robust Go applications using the latest cloud technologies, with a focus on security and data integrity. Work closely with Development, Product Design, QA, and Operations to define requirements and deliver high‑quality, secure features. Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to security best practices and coding standards. Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, prioritising security and data protection. Stay current with industry trends in cyber security and data management, sharing insights with the team. Perform DevOps duties, maintaining secure and reliable code in production environments. Strong experience building RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services. Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerised environments. Experience with messaging/queuing systems (e.g., NATS JetStream). Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and working in a SaaS environment is desirable. Familiarity with agile development frameworks (e.g., SCRUM). Strong written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail and analytical thinking. Experience with CI/CD automation and tools; understanding of modern development best practices, standards, and patterns.
