A leading client in the waste management and recycling industry is currently seeking to employ a suitably qualified, experienced and hardworking Diesel Mechanic to join their dynamic workshop team based in Chatsworth . The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out repairs, maintenance, diagnostics and servicing on a fleet of heavy‑duty vehicles, waste trucks, trailers and related equipment. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge, excellent fault‑finding abilities and previous experience working within a fast‑paced workshop environment. Also, applicant will be expected to ensure that all vehicles and equipment are maintained to a high operational standard in order to minimise downtime and ensure efficiency within the fleet. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct repairs, servicing and maintenance on diesel vehicles and equipment Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance Attend to vehicle breakdowns and emergency repairs Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with safety standards Complete job cards, inspection sheets and maintenance reports Maintain workshop cleanliness and adhere to health and safety procedures Ensure minimal downtime of fleet vehicles and equipment Test vehicles after repairs to ensure optimal performance Work closely with workshop management and other team members. Valid Code 14 driver’s licence with PrDP Minimum of 5 years proven experience working on heavy‑duty trucks and trailers Knowledge and experience working on: MAN TGA MAN TGS Mercedes Axor Drawbar trailers Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics Experience working on waste management vehicles and equipment, including: Skip loaders Hook loaders Rear‑end loaders Trailers Skills and Competencies: Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment Good communication and teamwork skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Reliable, responsible and punctual Strong work ethic and problem‑solving abilities Minimum Requirements: Trade tested Diesel Mechanic qualification Valid Code 14 driver’s licence with PrDP Traceable references Minimum of 5 years proven experience working on heavy‑duty trucks and trailers Knowledge and experience working on: MAN TGA MAN TGS Mercedes Axor Drawbar trailers Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics Experience working on waste management vehicles and equipment, including: Skip loaders Hook loaders Rear‑end loaders Trailers Only candidates who meet the above requirements will be considered . #J-18808-Ljbffr
