An incredible opportunity is now available for a Technical Support Specialist responsible for providing frontline assistance to users by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues while ensuring smooth system operations and excellent customer service. The position is based in Boksburg, Gauteng . Job Summary The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for managing technical data, documentation, and system support within Business Central, ensuring accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs), production scopes, and part information. This role provides cross‑departmental assistance, supports production and engineering teams, and mentors junior staff to maintain high standards of technical accuracy and operational efficiency. Job Responsibilities Business Central System Create, modify, block, and update part numbers from manuals, requests, and drawings. Upload and maintain part images, descriptions, specifications, and attributes. Manage technical documentation and drawing revisions through change management. Bill of Materials (BOMs) & Routings Develop and update BOMs and routings for machines, sub‑components, hydraulic systems, and subcontractor items. Ensure BOMs align with drawings, OEM recommendations, and manuals. Conduct BOM audits, corrections, and manage change processes. Production support Assist with production job queries related to BOM discrepancies. Investigate and update Business Central for part reversals and corrections. Scopes (New & Rebuild Machines) Support scope creation and updates with technical, sales, and service teams. Prepare monthly build scopes with relevant machine details for production. Documentation & Manuals Audit and update parts book manuals. Create BOMs for manuals and manage errors through the "Request to Write" system. Control changes and updates to machine parts books and archive technical documentation. Mentorship & Training Onboard and train junior team members in Business Central usage. Guide juniors in BOM structures, document control, revision management, and quality standards. Provide hands‑on support, accuracy checks, and knowledge transfer across systems and workflows. EHS & Quality Comply with safety policies and regulations. Report unsafe practices and promote safer product usage. Follow company quality standards and continuously improve work quality. General & Leadership Perform other duties as assigned by management. Take responsibility for personal development and skill enhancement. Engage proactively in community involvement within the role’s scope. Qualifications & Skill Requirements Grade 12 or Matric. Technical certification or diploma an advantage. 3-5 years’ extensive experience with hard rock mining equipment. Knowledge of, and experience with SAP, Microsoft Navision or Business Central is beneficial. Utilize 3D CAD programs to create illustrations for manuals. Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) is beneficial. Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulics and electrical systems. #J-18808-Ljbffr
