About the job Accounts Assistant Lettings Accounts Assistant Location: Cape Town, South Africa (supporting a UK-based property team) Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Lettings Accounts Assistant to join their growing Cape Town team. This role provides essential financial and administrative support to a UK-based lettings department, ensuring accurate processing of accounts and compliance with UK property and financial regulations. Key Responsibilities Process rental payments, deposits, and refunds for UK residential properties Maintain and reconcile landlord and tenant accounts in accordance with UK standards Prepare and issue monthly landlord statements and financial reports Assist with arrears management and liaise with the UK team regarding outstanding payments Process supplier invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments Respond to financial queries from landlords, tenants, and internal stakeholders Support month-end and year-end accounting processes Ensure compliance with our clients internal policies and UK financial regulations Skills & Requirements Previous experience in property accounts or a similar finance role (UK property experience is highly advantageous) Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote UK-based team Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Knowledge of UK lettings processes and regulations is preferred but not essential Qualifications Matric certificate (required) Finance-related qualification (advantageous) Working Hours Full-time, Monday to Friday Hours aligned with UK business hours Salary Competitive and market-related, based on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
