The Role The Commercial Finance Manager is the analytical engine of the Commercial Finance function, providing broad financial support across planning, reporting, pricing, and business partnering. Working directly alongside the Commercial Finance Director, this role transforms complex financial data into clear, actionable commercial insight – supporting the business in driving sustainable and profitable growth across all global markets. This is a role for a curious, commercially minded finance champion who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑growth fintech environment. Responsibilities Financial Planning & Analysis Support the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting cycles across all commercial segments. Build, maintain and enhance financial models covering revenue, margin, cost‑to‑serve and unit economics. Prepare scenario and sensitivity analyses to support strategic and operational decisions. Track actuals vs budget/forecast, producing variance commentary with clear commercial context. Commercial Reporting & Insights Produce accurate and timely monthly management reports and commercial performance packs. Develop and maintain dashboards tracking key commercial KPIs including ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, gross margin, and payback periods. Translate financial data into clear, meaningful narratives for non‑finance stakeholders across the organisation. Support preparation of board, executive, and investor reporting materials. Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analysing causes of unexpected variance against plan or budget. Business Partnering Act as a trusted day‑to‑day finance partner to commercial, sales, and product teams. Support evaluation of new initiatives, product investments, and go‑to‑market strategies through robust financial analysis. Facilitate cross‑departmental engagement, driving financial accountability and commercial awareness across the business. Provide ad hoc analysis and insights‑driven support to Commercial leadership as required. Pricing & Revenue Support Assist in the analysis of pricing structures, discount frameworks, deal economics, and commercial models. Monitor revenue trends by product, segment, channel, and geography to identify risks and opportunities. Support customer profitability assessments, cohort analysis, and customer behaviour analytics. Track and maintain special pricing validity, triggering renewal workflows and maintaining pricing repositories for key markets. Provide inputs into RFx processes aimed at increasing deal closure frequency and success rates. Investment & Business Case Support Build business cases for commercial initiatives using appropriate financial frameworks (ROI, payback, NPV). Support due diligence processes for partnerships, new market entries, or strategic investments. Prepare financial summaries and recommendations for senior stakeholder review. Process & Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and improve data quality and accessibility. Support implementation and optimisation of FP&A tools and BI systems. Develop, maintain and evolve appropriate processes and controls in support of continued commercial profitability. Research and recommend additional tools and best practices to augment the function's effectiveness. Qualifications Relevant Commercial / Financial degree (essential). Qualified or nearly qualified accountant – CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent. Post‑graduate qualification advantageous. Work Experience 4‑7 years' experience in a commercial finance, FP&A, or analytical finance role (essential). Proven experience within fintech, financial services, SaaS, or a high‑growth technology environment. Track record of building financial models, driving reporting, and partnering with commercial teams. Knowledge and Abilities Advanced Excel & financial modelling skills (essential). Solid understanding of SaaS/platform commercial metrics: ARR, MRR, NRR, CAC, LTV, gross margin, payback. Knowledge of Salesforce, Power BI, NAV, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, or similar tools (preferable). Effective communicator with ability to engage at all levels within the organisation. In‑depth knowledge of pricing mechanics, profitability analysis, and margin management. Pro‑active, structured problem‑solver with the ability to think outside the box. Proficient in full MS Office suite. Curious, courageous, and collaborative by nature – willing to challenge the status quo.
