A highly reputable and established Tour Operator, based in Somerset West, is looking for a passionate and energetic Sales and Reservations Consultant to achieve and maintain a comprehensive administrative, sales and reservations framework for our central reservations department. This is a strategic role affording growth potential for the right candidate. Under a passionate leadership team, the candidate must be able to implement and maintain a strategic sales plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its continued growth in a competitive tourism sector. The applicant must have a sound geographical knowledge of South Africa as well as a genuine passion for inbound tourism, and assist the marketing team in promoting our country as an ideal international travel destination. This role requires a high level of interpersonal & communication skills, strong work ethic, vibrant personality, attention to detail and project management skills. About the Role As our Sales & Reservations Consultant, you will be the key point of contact for local and international sales agents as well as our direct clients. Your role will involve handling enquiries, assist in creating tailor-made itineraries, confirming group tour bookings, and ensuring smooth travel arrangements — all with the goal of growing sales and exceeding client expectations. KPA’s & Key Responsibilities Responsible for assisting and advising agents and customers with the purchasing of our travel & tour products. Maintaining the company’s strategic sales & reservations plan that expands our customer base in ensuring the continued growth and presence of the Hotspots2c Tours brand. Build and maintain efficient and professional relationships with all existing agents, new agents, clients and staff. Liaise with operations department with regards to tour popularity, viability & occupancy levels as well as activity & accommodation bookings and vehicle and guide availability. Assist, on a rotational basis, with after-hours operational phone and e-mail enquiries. Ensure the best possible customer service standards including telephone, email & digital communication etiquette when dealing with clients and agents. Assist in marketing related activities. Assist with the finance team with financial activities such as checking invoices and payments etc. Assist in identifying emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competitor status. Have sound product knowledge and be aware of global industry trends and travel regulations at all times. Reports to the Sales Manager. Requirements Previous experience in sales, reservations, travel consulting, or a similar role (inbound tourism experience preferred). Strong knowledge of South Africa as a travel destination. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organised, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure. Proficiency in reservations systems, Microsoft Office, and online communication. A passion for travel and delivering exceptional customer service. Strong interpersonal skills, tenacity, drive and positivity Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a result driven, team-oriented environment Valid drivers license.
