We are looking for a finance professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and is willing to take ownership of the finance function beyond traditional reporting. This role bridges the gap between a Financial Manager and a Senior Accountant. The successful candidate will not only ensure accurate financial reporting but will also translate financial information into strategic insights for stakeholders. The business operates in a client benefit environment and reports externally on a full IFRS basis. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly management accounts (entity and product) for the entity and for inclusion into the group. Provide clear commentary on variances, business performance and emerging risks. Present financial results in a clear, concise and decision-focused manner. Ensure complete, accurate and valid transactions are recorded in the GL. Maintain strong financial controls and ensure reconciliations are reviewed. Identify risks early, raise them and propose solutions where applicable. Strengthen financial reporting processes where gaps exist. Operational Finance Leadership Review daily payments and detailed analysis of supporting schedules. Lead Junior staff in review of their weekly and monthly responsibilities. Maintain bank accounts at favourable balances. Including cash flow analysis to determine whether there are funds to invest. Monthly trial balance review. Implementation of efficient ways/methods of providing monthly and periodic deliverables. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with VAT on SARS e-filing. Other Assistance with internal and external audit requests in a timely fashion. Preparing budgets and forecasts in conjunction with business units. Experience and Qualifications BCom degree is essential Microsoft suite Sage X3 is advantageous Minimum 3 years finance experience IFRS technical knowledge Experience in leading teams is advantageous Strong analytical capability VAT and Income Tax Act knowledge (including VAT and Income Tax returns) Good verbal and electronic communication skills Interpersonal skills Critical thinking skills and ability to probe reports Ability to multi-task Good report writing skills Ability to work independently as well collaboratively as within a team Strategic and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Strong work ethic, motivation and drive functional #J-18808-Ljbffr
