Overview The role of the Physiotherapist within Amana Living is to provide physiotherapy services to residents in Amana Living’s residential care facilities. Physiotherapists assess the physical and mobility needs of residents, plan person‑centred interventions to maintain or improve functional ability and quality of life, and deliver and evaluate these therapeutic interventions. Work arrangement This position is permanent part‑time, 2 days a week (28 hours per fortnight) on the following roster: Week 1 – Monday: 08:30 – 16:00 (Parry Care Centre), Wednesday: 08:30 – 16:00 (Thomas Scott Hostel) Week 2 – Monday: 08:30 – 16:00 (Parry Care Centre), Wednesday: 08:30 – 16:00 (Thomas Scott Hostel) Applicants must commit to all days/shifts. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments that identify residents’ mobility, falls risk and physical ability. Contribute to the development of holistic, individualised, resident‑focused care plans in partnership with the resident, their carer/advocate and the Amana Living team. Provide individualised physiotherapy interventions and services, including equipment prescription, to enable residents to maintain mobility, reduce risk of falls, and maximise quality of life. Conduct frequent reviews of treatment objectives and interventions to ensure continued application, efficacy and outcomes. Contribute to the development and monitoring of group exercise programmes in assigned residential care sites, ensuring compliance with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards. Maintain current knowledge of contemporary physiotherapy practice and ensure all clinical practice is in accordance with relevant legislative requirements, professional codes of ethics and conduct, and evidence‑based practice. Ensure all documentation is timely, accurate and maintained in accordance with the Amana Living Clinical Governance Framework, organisational policies and procedures, and confidentiality agreements. Consult with Amana Living staff in a multi‑disciplinary manner, including making recommendations for involvement of other allied health professionals. What You’ll Have The successful candidate will have experience in physiotherapy assessment and programme development within the aged care or health services sector, superior interpersonal skills, and a commitment to evidence‑based practice. Essential Criteria Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APRA). Experience leading teams, motivating others, and collaborating to achieve objectives. Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively. Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Evidence of flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies. Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6‑month validity).
