Minimum Requirements: Education: matric / grade 12. Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor or similar). 3-5 years drafting experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Previous experience in reverse engineering or redesign work would be highly advantageous. Familiarity with fabrication, machining, welding & assembly process. Strong 2D/3D CAD modelling & technical drawing expertise. Knowledge of mechanical components, materials, tolerances & industry standards. Understanding of manufacturing processes & engineering principles. Key Responsibilities: Perform dimensional analysis, component measurement & disassembly to recreate technical drawings for existing parts. Identify engineering improvements for manufacturability, performance enhancement or cost reduction. Translate legacy drawings, rough sketches or physical components into CAD models and updated engineering documentation. Develop detailed 2D & 3D drawings, assemblies & fabrication drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar. Ensure all drawings comply with manufacturing standards, tolerances & company drafting guidelines. Update & revise drawings based on engineering changes, production feedback or inspection findings. Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical specifications & material lists for production teams. Work closely with welders, machinists & fabricators to ensure drawings align with available manufacturing capabilities. Verify accuracy & completeness of drawings before production release.
