Overview We are seeking a meticulous and tech-savvy Asset Librarian to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will manage our digital asset management (DAM) system, ensuring smooth operations in the organization, retrieval, and distribution of digital media assets. The Asset Librarian will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our rich library of visual and video assets and will work closely with various departments to support their asset needs. Responsibilities Digital Asset Management Manage and operate our DAM platform to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of digital assets. Perform regular audits to ensure all assets are correctly uploaded, tagged, and categorized. Ensure compliance with established naming conventions, file types, and file size requirements. Oversee both the upload and download processes for visual and video assets, maintaining quality control and consistency. Compliance And Standards Assess files to ensure adherence to organizational standards and protocols. Identify and correct non-compliant assets to maintain high standards of digital organization. Asset Retrieval And Distribution Facilitate the effective searching and retrieval of assets for the studio team and other departments. Respond efficiently to requests for specific visuals and file types, ensuring timely delivery of necessary files. Collaboration And Communication Work closely with creative, marketing, and production teams to understand their digital asset needs. Provide training and support to team members on the use of the DAM platform as needed. Continuous Improvement Evaluate current digital asset management processes and recommend enhancements for improved efficiency. Stay updated on trends in DAM technology and best practices to maintain an innovative and user-friendly system. Qualifications Matric/Equivalent Tertiary qualification would be advantageous Minimum Requirements 3–5 years’ experience working with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems or similar digital content platforms Solid understanding of digital file formats, naming conventions, metadata tagging, and file size optimisation Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and maintain large volumes of digital assets accurately High level of attention to detail, ensuring consistency, quality control, and adherence to standards Demonstrated ability to audit, categorise, and maintain structured digital libraries Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and proactively improve processes Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally (e.g. creative, marketing, production teams) Working knowledge of metadata standards and best practices in digital asset management Advantageous / Nice to Have Experience within a media, advertising, or creative studio environment Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and cloud-based storage solutions Basic understanding of copyright, licensing, and usage rights related to digital assets #J-18808-Ljbffr
