The Opportunity As part of our growing Commercial Underwriting talent pipeline, we’re connecting capable underwriters with international opportunities as demand arises. This role is suited to a commercially minded, tech‑comfortable Junior Commercial Underwriter who enjoys working within well‑defined processes while supporting international brokers across new business, renewals, and portfolio management. Key Responsibilities Support retention strategies and assist in reducing policy cancellations Contribute to efficient underwriting processes aligned with business targets Client & Stakeholder Engagement Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, brokers, insurers, and internal teams Build and maintain strong working relationships that support long‑term portfolio growth Assist with new business, renewals, endorsements, and mid‑term adjustments Analyse portfolios, request and assess quotations, present options, and implement premium changes Ensure all underwriting activity meets quality standards and regulatory requirements Maintain accurate electronic and physical records for audit and compliance purposes Support invoicing, refunds, and cancellation processes in line with company procedures Team Contribution Work closely with account executives on portfolio movements Meet productivity expectations and contribute to continuous improvement within the team Qualifications Matric or equivalent FAIS compliant Minimum 2 years’ experience in Short‑Term Insurance Commercial Underwriting Degree or Diploma in a relevant field advantageous Proven experience engaging directly with clients in a professional setting Strong English communication skills with confident verbal presentation Willingness to time‑shift for UK or Australian working hours Dedicated home office with reliable fibre internet (100/100 Mbps) South African citizen, residing in South Africa A short video introduction will form part of the application process Remuneration Salary bracket – R20,000 – R30,000 per month Why Join the ICSTalent Network?
