Job Description We are seeking a hands‑on and experienced Production Manager to oversee daily production operations, quality control, site inspections, installations, and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all production and on‑site activities are completed efficiently, safely, on time, and according to customer specifications. This role requires strong leadership, technical understanding, problem‑solving ability, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service. The Production Manager will regularly travel to customer sites to conduct measurements, inspections, quality checks, and oversee installations and maintenance work. Key Responsibilities Production & Operations Oversaw daily production activities and ensure efficient workflow. Monitored production schedules and communicated potential delays or issues proactively. Ensured all products are manufactured according to customer specifications and quality standards. Participated in operational and production planning meetings. Ensured all jobs are completed on time and to a high standard. Identified opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce waste. Site Inspections & Measurements Visited customer sites to conduct measurements for new installations, repairs, and maintenance work. Performed site quality inspections and ensured work meets required standards. Monitored installations and maintenance work to ensure correct execution the first time. Provided technical support and problem‑solving on‑site where necessary. Quality Control Ensured quality standards are maintained across all production and installation activities. Ensured all incidents, risks, and safety concerns are reported and addressed promptly. Stock & Equipment Management Oversaw stock control processes, including receiving, dispatching, and stock counting. Ensured tools, equipment, and machinery are properly maintained and operational. Monitored inventory levels and reported shortages or discrepancies. Ensured correct storage and organisation of stock and materials. Supervised and supported production and installation staff. Ensured staff performance meets operational requirements. Promoted teamwork, accountability, and a high‑performance culture. Provided regular feedback to management regarding staff performance and operational concerns. Requirements Education & Qualifications Trade qualification advantageous. Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production, factory, workshop, or manufacturing environment. Experience within the construction or industrial sector advantageous. Experience managing installations, maintenance, or on‑site operations. Technical Skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Experience working with hand tools and power tools. Basic electrical knowledge advantageous. Strong quality control and fault‑finding ability. Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Valid South African driver’s license and own transport.
