The Quality Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated testing solutions to ensure high-quality software delivery. This role leverages automation frameworks and predefined testing tools to validate system functionality, performance, and architecture, while aligning with enterprise quality standards and DevOps practices. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders across Group Technology to build aligned working relationships. Deliver stable and scalable automated testing solutions within agreed timelines and risk parameters. Provide expert guidance on quality engineering practices and standards. Design, develop, and implement test engineering solutions. Work closely with QA Leads, Developers, Architects, and Product Owners. Review technical artefacts including architecture designs and roadmaps. Translate business requirements into features, user stories, and epics. Define test strategies, approaches, and defect management processes. Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups). Ensure test environments are stable, available, and fit for purpose. Facilitate stakeholder sign-off through quality assurance processes. Additional Responsibilities Develop and configure automated testing solutions. Build and maintain automated testing pipelines within CI/CD environments. Develop reusable automation scripts and frameworks. Ensure adequate test coverage within Agile sprints. Manage and store test artefacts in repositories (e.g., Git). Analyse test results and proactively identify defects. Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks. Participate in peer reviews and code reviews. Communicate testing progress and results to stakeholders. Mentor and support junior QA engineers. Identify and implement improvements to business processes and systems. Qualifications Essential: Relevant Professional Qualification or Honour’s Degree Preferred: BSc in IT, BCom IT, or equivalent Certifications (Advantageous) ISTQB Agile Foundation ISTQB Advanced Certification Agile & DevOps certifications / bootcamps Experience Requirements Mandatory Experience Areas Test analysis and test design Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) / Test-Driven Development (TDD) Non-functional testing (performance, security, reliability) Understanding of solution architecture Payment systems / financial services experience (highly preferred) Technical Skills Strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles Programming languages: C#, Java Test automation tools: Selenium, Appium, RestAssured, Karate Performance testing: JMeter Test management & tracking: Jira Load and performance testing Security / vulnerability testing Version control systems (e.g., Git) #J-18808-Ljbffr
