They are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Cape Town office in a financial reporting capacity. This role focuses on preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports, supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes, and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and insightful financial analysis for management. Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and financial close processes to ensure data accuracy. Oversee tax compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and withholding tax, and coordinate with auditors as required. Monitor project accounting, including work-in-progress (WIP), revenue recognition, and project profitability. Track project costs, accruals, and budget variances, collaborating with project managers to control expenditures. Support contract management processes, ensuring accurate billing, claims, and cost recovery. Assist with cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and bank reconciliations, including multi-currency transactions. Ensure timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, monitor client billing cycles, and resolve discrepancies. Maintain accurate financial records in ERP systems and support process improvements, automation, and system upgrades. Experience & Skills Required Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, ideally within an EPCM, engineering, or construction environment. In-depth experience in project accounting, including monitoring work-in-progress (WIP) and managing project costs effectively. Proficient in ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, or similar) with strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis. Practical knowledge of multi-currency transactions, tax compliance, and applying international accounting standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail. Ability to manage financial aspects of complex EPCM projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance, maintaining financial integrity.
