Job Summary The Executive Head: Business Banking Commercial Client Coverage is accountable for leading the stewardship of the Business Bank’s most important client relationships, ensuring long‑term value, strong advocacy, and integrated enterprise delivery through senior sponsorship and strategic orchestration. The role is accountable for protecting, deepening, and growing the Business Bank’s most strategically important and complex client relationships. The role ensures that priority clients receive senior‑level sponsorship, integrated solutions, and long‑term value, by orchestrating the bank’s full capabilities around client strategies and needs. The role leads the strategic relationship management model, ensuring disciplined client selection, consistent senior engagement, strong advocacy, and sustainable commercial and reputational outcomes. Job Description a. Strategic Client Relationship Stewardship Own the strategic relationship management approach for the Business Bank. Define what constitutes a strategic client and maintain rigorous portfolio discipline. Ensure senior‑level sponsorship and continuity for priority client relationships; assign and sponsor senior relationship coverage for strategic clients. Act as escalation point for relationship, service, or reputational risk. b. Long‑Term Client Value and Growth Determine which clients qualify as strategic relationships. Drive wallet share growth, retention, and lifetime client value. Ensure client strategies are well understood and translated into tailored banking solutions. Balance commercial growth with risk, capital, and reputation considerations. Track and manage relationship health and concentration risk across the strategic client portfolio. c. Enterprise Orchestration and Integration Coordinate senior stakeholders across Product, Credit, Risk, Treasury, Operations, and Digital. Remove internal silos that hinder effective delivery to strategic clients. Sponsor integrated, bespoke solutions for complex requirements. Ensure alignment between client needs and enterprise priorities. d. Strategic Relationship Management Capability Define and embed standards, expectations, and ways of working for Strategic Relationship Managers. Coach and mentor senior strategic bankers in advisory, judgement, and enterprise‑thinking skills. Partner with Coverage and Risk leadership to strengthen discipline and decision quality. Build a talent and succession pipeline for strategic relationship roles. e. Client Advocacy and Market Positioning Act as a senior advocate for strategic clients within the organization. Strengthen the Business Bank’s reputation, credibility, and trust with leading business clients. Represent the Business Bank in key client forums and engagements where appropriate. Ensure client insights inform product development, operating model improvements, and strategic priorities. Education Master's Degree: Finance; Postgraduate Degrees and Professional Qualifications: Business, Commerce and Management Studies.
