Job Description The Visa Implementation Services (VIS) Consulting Director will be a key member of the Visa Consulting & Analytics organization, working across Southern Eastern Africa and Western Central Africa. The role focuses on defining and executing VIS’s mandate, deepening client relationships and optimizing client performance in the subregions. Responsibilities Lead and/or serve as subject‑matter expert on consulting engagements across practice areas (portfolio, digital, risk) Use VISA and external data to analyze client needs across focus markets and identify opportunities for VIS assignments with key clients. Lead, support and contribute to sales pitches for VIS. Lead and contribute to internal problem‑solving sessions. Prepare for and participate in client discussions. Lead project deliveries in both coordination and delivery roles. Stand up and manage large VCA programs for Pan African clients focused on VIS workstreams. Work closely with other VISA groups (Products, BD, Risk, Marketing, Digital Solutions, etc.) to ensure a seamless consulting experience. Develop VIS’s offering and tailored solutions in line with client needs by identifying collaboration opportunities and developing integrated go‑to‑market strategies with internal stakeholders. Collaborate with VCA colleagues, Visa account executives and other Visa functions to define focus areas and cultivate a pipeline of engagement opportunities. Qualifications Basic qualifications include: 10+ years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree, or 8+ years with an advanced degree (MBA, JD, MD, etc.), or 3+ years with a PhD. 12+ years of experience for the preferred track with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 8–10 years with an advanced degree, or 6+ years with a PhD. 15+ years in consulting and implementation support with financial institutions, merchants, and/or government, with deep understanding of card operations and portfolio management. Regional and global experience is also desired. Superior project management skills. Fluent communicator with diplomatic skills to work in a multi‑functional environment. Comfortable presenting to senior management and VISA. Highly analytical with advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills. Results driven, flexible, and customer focused. Able to travel frequently and work on client sites. Self‑motivated and able to use own initiative with limited direction. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with inter‑disciplinary groups.
