CEO @ Jobox | Helping Corporates & Startups Hire Top Graduate Talent What you will be doing You will lead the evolution of the Jobox platform, which powers placements, bursary management, and talent discovery for thousands of young South Africans. Your role combines strategic direction with hands‑on delivery. You will define what we build, why it matters, and ensure that every release moves us closer to our mission of creating meaningful youth employment at scale. You will work closely with the CEO and fractional CTO to translate Jobox’s business objectives into a clear product roadmap, then guide our developers to bring it to life. This includes shaping features from research and prioritisation through to release and iteration, while ensuring the platform remains intuitive, scalable, and valuable for students, employers, and funders. Your work will directly influence how youth access opportunities, how companies engage with emerging talent, and how institutions measure outcomes. You will act as both strategist and builder, connecting user needs, technical delivery, and business growth into one coherent direction. Where you will fit in You will report to the CEO and form part of the leadership team, working closely with the fractional CTO and developers who build the platform. You will partner with Customer Success, Student Success, Business Development, and Operations teams who engage with users daily. Your role is to connect these perspectives into a unified product direction. You will ensure that user insights, business priorities, and technical realities align, while maintaining clarity on the overall roadmap. You will help translate company strategy into product execution and guide cross‑functional collaboration so that the platform continues to scale effectively and deliver measurable impact. Key Responsibilities: 1. Product Strategy and Vision Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap that align with Jobox’s mission and business goals. Translate company objectives into a clear product strategy that connects placements, bursary management, and talent discovery. Prioritise initiatives that deliver the most value for students, employers, and funders. Balance long‑term scalability with near‑term delivery, making informed trade‑offs between user needs, technical feasibility, and business outcomes. Track and report on key product metrics related to user engagement, client retention, and programme impact. 2. Product Development and Delivery Own the full product lifecycle from concept to launch. Write clear product requirements and user stories that guide development. Work closely with the fractional CTO and developers to scope, design, and release new features and improvements. Run sprint planning, backlog management, and prioritisation discussions to keep work focused on high‑impact outcomes. Review and test new releases to ensure product quality and usability before launch. 3. User Research and Discovery Lead discovery to understand the needs and behaviours of students, employers, and institutional partners. Gather insights through interviews, platform analytics, and feedback loops. Translate findings into actionable improvements and product opportunities. 4. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with Customer Success, Student Success, and Business Development to ensure product changes support operational needs and client satisfaction. Communicate product updates, roadmap priorities, and release plans across the organisation. Align cross‑functional teams around timelines, expectations, and shared success metrics. 5. Leadership and Process Improvement Act as the functional lead for the product team, guiding developers and coordinating with the fractional CTO. Improve delivery processes, documentation, and feedback systems that help the team move faster. Contribute to building a strong product culture grounded in data, empathy, and accountability.
