Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for co-developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies for medium to low value, indirect procurement categories across the organisation’s Africa operations in collaboration with the responsible Category Managers. This role ensures cost efficiency, quality consistency, and alignment with organisational goals through centralised oversight of key spend categories. Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing Co-Develop and implement category-specific sourcing strategies for lower risk indirect categories for example, marketing, office equipment, moving equipment. Negotiate, execute and monitor, in collaboration with global category management and the category managers, where necessary, global/regional framework agreements with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, terms, and service levels. Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and risks such as supply chain disruptions and price volatility. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with country-specific Procurement Management to execute central agreements and tailor strategies to local market conditions. Collaborate with plant Specialists, finance, and sustainability teams to align procurement activities with cost, quality and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals. Standardisation & Compliance Standardise specifications and quality requirements for materials and equipment. Ensure compliance with company-wide sustainability and ethical sourcing standards. Performance Management Track cost savings, supplier reliability, compliance metrics and contract life-cycle milestones. Prepare and present reports to the CPM, refining strategies based on data-driven insights. Supplier Relationship Management Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with regional and global suppliers, including performance monitoring and issue resolution. Lead negotiations for framework agreements and contracts with suppliers to achieve favourable terms and conditions, including pricing, quality, and delivery. Market Analysis Conduct thorough market research and analysis to understand industry trends, identify potential suppliers, and assess market risks and opportunities. Continuous Improvement Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the procurement process for assigned categories. Collaboration and Integration Collaborate and integrate non-core category management with the responsible category manager. Required skills / qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Diploma in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering. Experience & Knowledge Minimum 2 years’ in strategic procurement, with specific expertise in manufacturing related segments. Understanding of negotiation skills and managing supplier contracts. Mid-level proficiency in procurement technology systems (e.g., e-sourcing tools, ERP systems). Competencies Strong analytical acumen with proven ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support strategic decision-making. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate teams and drive high-performance outcomes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and manage stakeholders at all levels.
