The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for the full bookkeeping function across multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role requires a mature, proactive, and highly dynamic individual with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Manage full-function bookkeeping across multiple companies and jurisdictions Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, journals, and reconciliations Handle multi-currency transactions, foreign exchange adjustments, and reporting Prepare monthly management accounts, including income statements and balance sheets Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions across all entities Perform bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations Ensure compliance with South African financial regulations and international standards where applicable Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory requirements Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and external stakeholders Monitor and improve internal financial controls and processes Support senior management with financial insights and reporting Oversee payroll inputs and ensure accuracy in financial integration Manage financial systems and ensure data integrity across platforms Minimum Requirements Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum of 8–12 years’ experience in a senior bookkeeping or similar role Proven experience working in a multi-company and multi-currency environment Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with VAT, SARS compliance, and statutory submissions Preferred Profile A highly dynamic, mature professional (ideally with extensive industry experience) Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy and accountability Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlinesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently Key Competencies Financial acumen and analytical thinking High level of integrity and confidentiality Strong organisational and time management skills Adaptability in a fast-changing, multi-entity environment Leadership capability and mentorship of junior finance staff What Success Looks Like in This Role Accurate and timely financial reporting across all entities Seamless handling of multi-currency transactions and reconciliations Improved financial controls and streamlined processes Strong support to leadership through reliable financial insights Remuneration Market-related salary based on experience and expertise Opportunity to work in a diverse, high-growth, multi-entity environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
