Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of underground mobile mining equipment and mechanical systems Create and optimise detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using CAD tools Perform FEA analysis and simulations to ensure performance, reliability, and safety Design and integrate hydraulic and mechanical systems for heavy equipment applications Ensure designs are optimised for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and durability Drive testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives Support production, commissioning, and field troubleshooting when required Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team Minimum Requirements BEng in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) 5–10 years’ experience in mechanical design within mining, heavy engineering, or OEM environments Proven experience with underground mining equipment or similar heavy machinery Strong hydraulics knowledge and system integration experience Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation tools (FEA) Solid understanding of welding, machining, and manufacturing processes Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and technical documentation Registered as a Candidate Engineer, working towards Pr Eng registration Key Competencies Self-starter with the ability to take ownership of projects end-to-end Strong prioritisation and time management skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking Effective communicator with leadership and mentoring ability #J-18808-Ljbffr
