Introduction We are looking for a skilled Operations & Maintenance Technician to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of commercial and industrial Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets. This role is ideal for a hands-on electrical technician with strong solar PV experience, solid fault-finding ability and a mandatory 3-phase Wireman’s Licence / Installation Electrician registration. You will be responsible for monitoring plant performance, conducting site inspections, carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance, supporting commissioning and upgrades, and ensuring that assets operate safely and efficiently. Duties & Responsibilities Monitor plant performance, alarms and online portals to identify faults, yield deviations, abnormal trends and availability risks. Conduct routine, preventative and scheduled maintenance on Solar PV and BESS systems in line with maintenance plans, OEM requirements, site procedures and SLA commitments. Carry out site inspections on PV modules, DC cabling, terminations, breakers, DBs, enclosures, communication equipment, inverters and balance-of-system components. Perform fault-finding and root-cause analysis on AC and DC systems, inverters, string circuits, communications hardware, protection devices, battery systems, BMS, PCS and associated control equipment. Diagnose, repair, replace or elevate faulty components, including modules, fuses, connectors, communication boards, DC cabling, battery-related equipment and auxiliary devices. Support firmware updates, data-log retrieval, remote resets, OEM technical engagement, system upgrades and commissioning-related activities where required. Assist with CoC-related inspection, testing, rectification and documentation where applicable. Complete maintenance documentation accurately and timeously, including inspection checklists, fault reports, service reports, performance reports and close-out recommendations. Maintain professional working relationships with clients, site personnel, contractors, OEMs and service providers. Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site permits, HSE requirements, electrical standards and company procedures. Participate in standby, overtime, weekend work and emergency call-outs as operationally required. Contribute to continuous improvement, asset optimisation and reduction of repeat faults across the portfolio. Requirements Registered 3-phase Wireman’s Licence / Installation Electrician registration is mandatory. Relevant electrical trade qualification, National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical electrical qualification. Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on Solar PV O&M, commissioning, electrical field service or related technical experience within commercial, industrial or embedded-generation environments. Practical experience with inverters, AC/DC fault-finding, electrical drawings, schematics, communications hardware and online monitoring platforms. Working knowledge of three-phase electrical systems, safe isolation procedures, testing, fault diagnosis and electrical compliance requirements. Experience working with Solar PV systems in commercial or industrial environments. Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly to multiple operational sites. Strong safety awareness and ability to work in line with HSE rules, site permits and legal/electrical standards. Computer literacy, including MS Office and plant-monitoring/reporting systems. Advantageous Experience Hands-on exposure to BESS, BMS, PCS, hybrid systems or energy-storage maintenance. Experience with inverter and BESS platforms such as Huawei, SMA, Sungrow, SolarMD, Tesla, Attess or similar. Exposure to SCADA, EMS, BMS monitoring platforms, industrial communications and networking equipment. Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, RS485, CAN and Ethernet. Experience with LV/MV interfaces, switchgear, transformers, protection devices, surge/lightning protection and grounding systems. Working at Heights certification. PV GreenCard or equivalent PV installation/quality training. PLC or controls familiarity, particularly in BESS, microgrid or industrial-control environments. #J-18808-Ljbffr
