MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Accounting degree or equivalent; Excellent computer skills (MS Office package); Syspro; Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles; Knowledge of economic principles; Knowledge of auditing practices and principles; Knowledge of applicable law, codes and regulations; Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accountant position. Responsibilities General ledger Monthly processing of journals namely: accruals, provisions, depreciation, head office cost allocation, salaries / wages, corrections / reallocations; Review of conciliations Monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliations;Monthly intercompany loan accounts reconciliations;Income statement movement reviews and analyses on specific accounts as required Month end reporting Preparation of month end reports for submission to Germany. Creditors Review and sign COD & trade account creditors reconciliations;Check payment batch to cheque/EFT register; Debtors Review of monthly intercompany invoicing GL allocation;Monthly meeting with credit controller and assist to resolve queries; Returns and reconciliations Preparation, completion and submission of monthly VAT returns. Including the year to date VAT reconciliation every month.Attending to all VAT audits Foreign travelling Review employee request for travel form;Review/order forex and arrange travel insuranceReview/complete Travel Sheet Recon & updated forex on hand schedule Insurance Inform Insurer of any new acquisitions;Completion of claim forms when necessary. General Clerical and administration duties such as filing, record keeping, investigation on queries etc.Create new GL accounts for new BU's as requested by areas.Assist Buyers with GL Account allocation for expenses.Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close;Ad-hoc duties Supervisory Manage & review debtors, creditors & bookkeeping functionsTrain, assist, mentor and develop credit, debtor clerks & bookkeeper.
