We are looking for a Quality Manager – In Field to join our Technical/Operational team and play a key role in ensuring premium blueberry quality from farm to packhouse. Reporting to the Product Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing product quality in-field by supporting growers, training harvesting teams, and ensuring adherence to quality and harvest protocols. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic agricultural environment. Key Performance Outputs Quality Control Train Quality Supervisors and harvesting teams on product specifications and quality standards Monitor and ensure correct fruit maturity and quality at harvest Conduct in‑field inspections and provide daily feedback to relevant stakeholders Support Farm Managers with picking plans using real‑time quality insights Identify and elevate premium quality opportunities (e.g. Flavourburst / Top Tier fruit) Harvest Protocols & Compliance Cold chain management Traceability processes Report risks impacting product quality and safety Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes Field Packing Oversight Ensure field‑packed product meets company and customer specifications Support orchard selection for optimal field packing Maintain strict hygiene and cold chain practices Manage QC processes and implement corrective actions Sign off final pallets for export Technical & Operational Support Assist with post‑harvest trials and innovations Schedule and manage farm visits and in‑field QC checks Compile and distribute field reports Collect MRL samples in line with protocols Build strong customer and market knowledge to support commercial decisions Requirements Matric / Grade 12 (essential) Relevant tertiary qualification (preferred) Minimum of 2 years’ work experience Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel locally Technical Skills Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Knowledge of the fruit/agriculture sector Understanding of soft fruit (berries) advantageous Personal Attributes Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent planning and organisational ability Detail‑oriented with a results‑driven mindset Able to work independently and under pressure High level of professionalism, tact and discretion Flexible and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment Why Join Us?
