An established and growing financial services group is seeking a commercially minded Senior Credit & Investment Analyst to join its credit and investments function. This is an opportunity to play a key role in live deal assessment, credit underwriting, investment analysis, and the continued development of robust credit frameworks within a fast-paced, multi-business environment. The role is well-suited to a qualified CA(SA) who enjoys combining technical credit analysis with practical deal execution, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement. Role Responsibilities In this role, you will lead detailed credit and deal assessments across live transactions, including financial analysis, risk identification, due diligence, valuation work, and structuring input. You will prepare high-quality credit applications, investment memoranda, and deal papers for credit and investment committee review. You will also support the full deal lifecycle, from screening incoming opportunities and engaging with originators, brokers, and clients, through to covenant design, approval conditions, monitoring reviews, and post-approval analysis. As the business continues to scale, you will help refine credit templates, scorecards, assessment frameworks, and governance standards to improve consistency and analytical rigour across the group. Experience Requirements 5–8 years’ relevant post-articles experience in credit analysis, private credit, corporate or SME lending, investment analysis, or a related environment Strong hands‑on credit assessment capability, including financial statement analysis, cash flow modelling, capital structure review, covenant design, and risk identification Proven experience preparing credit applications, investment memoranda, or deal papers to a high standard Comfortable working across the full deal lifecycle, including origination support, due diligence, structuring, approval, monitoring, and covenant tracking Ability to translate professional judgement into structured, repeatable processes, templates, and scorecards Experience working directly with brokers, clients, originators, and internal business leads Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively while maintaining a commercial relationship Exposure to multiple asset classes, such as private credit, private equity, asset‑backed lending, or working capital finance, would be advantageous Familiarity with CRM systems, virtual data rooms, digital credit tools, investor reporting, or fund operations would be beneficial A pragmatic, detail‑oriented, and commercially aware approach Strong ownership mindset, integrity, discretion, and the ability to operate in a fast‑moving environment.
