POSITION – Operations Manager Location: Polokwane Duration: 6 month contract with possibility if perm REMUNERATION Salary: R38 000 based on qualifications and experience Performance-based incentives aligned to KPI achievement POSITION OVERVIEW The Operations Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership in managing depot operations, fleet performance, and personnel. The role requires a results‑driven individual with strong operational, technical, financial, and people management capabilities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES In line with the operational performance framework outlined in the company’s performance agreement, the successful candidate will be responsible for: Overseeing daily bus operations, ensuring safety, reliability, and punctuality of services Managing fleet maintenance and technical performance, ensuring all vehicles meet regulatory and safety standards Supervising and leading depot personnel, driving accountability and high performance Planning and managing scheduling, routing, and dispatch operations Ensuring full compliance with transport legislation, company policies, and regulatory frameworks Managing operational budgets, cost controls, and financial efficiency Overseeing inventory and procurement of parts and operational supplies Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs ACCOUNTABILITY & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT Full accountability for team performance and service delivery outcomes Responsible for departmental alignment with company strategy and targets Subject to quarterly performance reviews against defined KPIs, including: Service reliability and punctuality Maintenance efficiency Cost management Staff performance and morale Customer satisfaction Regulatory compliance FINANCIAL & GOVERNANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Oversight of operational financial management, including maintenance and repair costs Accountability for financial losses arising from negligence or misconduct Upholding strict adherence to governance, compliance, and internal controls MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Degree/Diploma in Transport Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in bus operations or a public transport environment Proven experience in fleet management, depot operations, and staff supervision Strong understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements Demonstrated ability in financial management and cost control Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
