Overview Overall Responsibility : To operate the forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency. Responsibilities Adhere to production schedules Loading, unloading, shipping and receiving warehouse items Keep track of the location of goods Move goods from one location to another Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency Picking and wrapping orders for shipment Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards Perform inspections on the forklift Perform routine maintenance on the forklift Ensure proper health and safety regulations are followed Requirements of the Role Valid certification to operate forklifts A minimum of 2 years’ forklift operator experience Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment Preferred Skills/Competencies Ability to follow proper safety procedures Ability to work independently Ability to maintain a safe working area Knowledge of heavy machinery Great organizational skills NB: Specific duties/responsibilities will vary from time to time: the above list is intended to indicate the general nature of the post and is not exhaustive.
