Introduction A growing renewable energy IPP is seeking a Business/Project Development professional to join its trading and project acquisition platform. This role will focus on acquiring renewable energy projects (from developers or greenfield), progressing them through the IGAR process, and structuring routes to market through bilateral PPAs, trading PPAs, or participation in SAWEM. Our client islooking for someone who understands both project development and commercial power sales, and who is comfortable putting together compelling proposals to secure offtakers. Duties & Responsibilities Originate and evaluate renewable energy project opportunities Engage developers for pipeline acquisition Take projects through regulatory and IGAR processes Structure and negotiate bilateral PPAs and trading PPAs Support participation strategies in SAWEM Prepare commercial proposals and tender submissions Work closely with finance, technical, and legal teams to progress transactions to financial close This is a commercially focused role with exposure to project finance, market trading structures, and strategic power sales. Key Responsibilities Identify and assess greenfield and late-stage development opportunities Conduct commercial and regulatory due diligence on pipeline projects Lead or support IGAR-related processes and grid registration Structure offtake strategies (corporate PPA, trader PPA, SAWEM participation) Draft and negotiate term sheets and commercial proposals Manage relationships with developers, offtakers, lenders, and advisors Prepare investment committee materials and transaction summaries Support projects through financial close Desired Experience & Qualification Minimum 3 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector Direct exposure to PPAs, project development, trading, or financial close processes Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Law, Economics, or related field Understanding of the South African electricity market and regulatory framework Familiarity with IGAR, NERSA processes, or market participation structures advantageous Understanding of SAWEM and/or SAPP trading frameworks beneficial Strong commercial acumen and proposal writing capability Experience working at an IPP, developer, trader, or advisory firm Comfortable engaging developers and originating deals Able to translate technical projects into commercially bankable transactions Confident negotiator with strong stakeholder management skills Ambitious, entrepreneurial, and motivated to close transactions Package & Remuneration R 300 000 - R 500 000 #J-18808-Ljbffr
