Purpose of the role To ensure maximum uptime of production equipment by maintaining all machinery to required standards and responding effectively to production needs and equipment failures. The role is responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing equipment in compliance with safety regulations. Key Job Roles and Responsibilities Maintenance and Repairs Perform fault finding and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment. Execute preventative maintenance according to planned schedules. Reduce downtime through effective maintenance practices. Maintain reliability and integrity of machine control and safety systems. Respond to emergency breakdowns (electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration). Installation and Projects Install, commission, and maintain machinery and equipment. Assist with maintenance projects and equipment upgrades. Design and install electrical circuits, wiring, and components where required. Administration and Compliance Complete and capture job cards accurately in the maintenance system. Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety regulations. Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports. Ensure proper control and accountability of spare parts. Housekeeping and Continuous Improvement Maintain a clean and organised workspace. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and best practices. Provide on-the-job training and coaching to apprentices. Required Qualifications and Experience Grade 12 / NQF Level 3 (N2–N4 advantageous). Qualified Red Seal Millwright (essential). Minimum 3–5 years post-trade experience in an FMCG environment. Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills. Computer literacy. Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle. Provide technical support to production teams. Communicate with production regarding equipment performance and breakdowns. Identify areas requiring maintenance and continuous improvement. #J-18808-Ljbffr
