This is an incredible opportunity for a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to architect and deliver scalable, automated cloud infrastructure within one of South Africa’s leading financial services environments. This Senior AWS Cloud Engineer role is a 12-month independent contract based in Johannesburg with a rate of R1000 per hour. THE ROLE As Senior AWS Cloud Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code, while driving automation across CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows. You will work across cloud and infrastructure platforms, managing Kubernetes environments and ensuring highly available, performant, and resilient cloud production systems. This role is focused on building secure, automated, and highly scalable cloud infrastructure using Terraform and other Infrastructure as Code tooling, while improving deployment efficiency and operational reliability. You will play a key role in improving system scalability, enforcing cloud engineering best practices in DevOps and platform engineering, and enabling teams to ship faster and more safely. REQUIREMENTS 5+ years AWS Cloud Engineering / Platform Engineering experience Strong AWS infrastructure and cloud services experience Advanced Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience Hands‑on experience with CloudFormation, CDK, Terragrunt, Helm, or similar IaC tooling Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) Strong Linux/Unix systems knowledge Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) #J-18808-Ljbffr
