Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and professionally registered Bridge Team Lead and Contract Engineer to join our Cape Town office. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role within the bridges and transportation infrastructure team, with a strong focus on production management, technical delivery, mentoring of junior staff, and construction supervision support on major infrastructure projects. The role requires a technically strong professional with proven bridge design experience, excellent project coordination capabilities, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary project delivery within demanding timeframes and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee the technical delivery of bridge and structural design projects Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, technologists, and technicians within the Cape Town bridges team Review and approve design calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure integrated project delivery Team & Production Management Manage the production workflow and resource allocation within the Cape Town bridges team Monitor project progress, budgets, schedules, and quality deliverables Drive technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team Support recruitment, development, and performance management of technical staff Assist with proposal preparation, project planning, and business development initiatives Construction Supervision & Contract Administration Provide construction supervision support on bridge and transportation infrastructure projects Assist with contract administration, site inspections, and quality assurance processes Review contractor submissions, method statements, and construction documentation Resolve technical site queries and provide engineering support during construction Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project execution Key Requirements BEng / BSc in Civil Engineering MEng / MSc in Structural Engineering advantageous Professionally Registered Engineer (Pr.Eng) with ECSA Minimum of 10 years’ relevant bridge design experience Proven experience in the design and delivery of bridge and related transportation structures Experience in construction supervision and contract administration on infrastructure projects Strong understanding of South African design codes, standards, and contract conditions Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites when required #J-18808-Ljbffr
