The Online Tutor at SOARing Scholars is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and learner-centred online tutoring sessions to students in Grades 1–12. This role focuses on improving learners’ academic understanding, confidence, and performance through interactive virtual lessons aligned with the CAPS curriculum. Tutors play a critical role in supporting students’ academic growth while upholding SOARing Scholars’ commitment to excellence, consistency, and personalised education. Available Tutor Positions Mathematics IsiXhosa Natural Sciences (NS) Economic & Management Sciences (EMS) Mathematics Maths Literacy Geography Business Studies Tourism CAT Physical Sciences Life Sciences What Success in This Role Looks Like Learners demonstrate measurable improvement in understanding, confidence, and academic results Lessons are well-prepared, interactive, and tailored to individual learner needs Strong, professional relationships are built with learners Tutors consistently meet attendance, punctuality, and scheduling expectations Positive feedback is received from learners, parents, and the SOARing Scholars academic team Tutors actively contribute to a supportive, reliable, and high-performing virtual tutoring environment Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging, interactive online tutoring sessions via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet Support learners in Grades 1–12 across assigned subjects in line with the CAPS and IEB curriculum Prepare lesson plans, activities, and revision support tailored to individual learner needs Track learner progress and provide constructive academic feedback Encourage learner participation, confidence, and independent thinking Maintain accurate attendance records and communicate professionally with the academic team Adhere to SOARing Scholars’ teaching standards, policies, and schedules Create a safe, positive, and structured virtual learning environment Matric and/or a post-matric qualification At least 1 year of online tutoring or teaching experience Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly Must be available between 15:00 – 21:00 (SAST) Professional, patient, and learner-focused approach Technical Requirements Laptop with 2.3GHz or higher processor HD webcam Quiet and professional working environment Experience using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet Why Join SOARing Scholars?
