Job Description As a Senior Learning Designer (Learning Tech & AI), you will lead the end-to-end design and build of training programmes in the field of physical asset management across ILT, VILT, blended and eLearning modalities. You will set the learning design standard, provide coaching and quality review for less senior learning designers and content editors, and ensure delivery that drives measurable performance outcomes. You will apply Pragma’s course development process (ASCPI) and own delivery against scope, timelines and quality standards. You will work closely with internal and external SMEs (often seasoned engineering consultants), proactively manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure smooth handover and ongoing maintenance through the LMS, SharePoint Online and the OnKey helpdesk process. This is a hands‑on senior individual contributor role with a strong coach‑lead component, you will enable the team’s use of new learning technologies and responsible AI by embedding them into templates, workflows, quality standards and day‑to‑day practice. Minimum Requirements A tertiary qualification in a related field (Education or Instructional Design preferable). At least 2+ years in a team lead or people management position. A minimum of 7+ years experience in instructional design for corporate/technical training, including end-to-end ownership of multiple concurrent projects. Experience designing for technical/professional audiences (engineering, operations, maintenance) is strongly preferred. Facilitation/teaching experience is an advantegous. Proven ability to lead SMEs through structured design workshops and to challenge input constructively to protect learner outcomes, scope and timelines. A portfolio is required. Candidates must provide examples of ILT/VILT facilitator/learner materials, at least one eLearning module (e.g., Storyline/H5P) and assessment design (question types, rubrics/marking guides). Demonstrated experience implementing learning technology and/or AI-enabled workflows in a production environment (from pilot to rollout), including change management and quality controls. Duties & Responsibilities Strategy Translate Academy strategy into an actionable course roadmap (priorities, sequencing, effort estimates, and release plans) in collaboration with SMEs and Advisory leads. Own a continuous improvement cycle: evaluate learner feedback and performance data, recommend improvements, and drive updates through to release. Coaching & Capability Building (no line management) Coach and mentor learning designers/content editors through structured check‑ins, on‑the‑job guidance and practical skill‑building (including learning tech and AI‑enabled workflows). Review storyboards, assessments and eLearning builds; provide actionable feedback and quality‑gate deliverables against agreed standards and learner outcomes. Develop and maintain templates, rubrics and playbooks (ASCPI‑aligned) and run enablement sessions to uplift the team in the Pragma learning design approach. Drive adoption of new learning technologies and AI: identify use‑cases, pilot tools, document workflows, and set guardrails for quality, IP/confidentiality and responsible use; coach others in applying them. Training Course Development Lead course discovery with SMEs: define performance objectives, learner personas, prerequisite knowledge, constraints, and success metrics before design begins. Set and enforce quality standards across storyboards, assessments, facilitator materials, SCORM packages and LMS configuration; run reviews and sign‑off with SMEs. Design learning courses as identified by SMEs / Advisory leads that is fit for purpose in terms of delivery method, target audience and operational needs. Follow the development process (ASCPI) in course design and delivery. Provide the training facilitator with a facilitator guide/LC with a delivery guide/for each course. Own content governance: manage versioning, reviews, approvals, and release notes in SharePoint Online and ensure configuration control for all learning assets. Complete all course improvements on time, and manage course improvement requests as per the OnKey helpdesk process. Deploy new/updated courses to the LMS (testing, enrolment rules, certificates, reporting) and complete a structured handover to LSS, including maintenance instructions and known issues. Business Development The required marketing material for the newly developed training course is provided to the BD Manager. General Ensure development templates are kept up to date as per the needs identified during best practice meetings. Ensure standards documents are maintained and updated as per the needs identified during best practice meetings.
