Production Supervisor We are seeking a highly capable Production Shift Supervisor to lead and oversee operations within our manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a results‑driven professional with strong technical expertise in blow moulding (HDPE) and proven leadership experience in a production environment. The successful candidate will take full accountability for shift performance—ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are consistently achieved. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate production activities to consistently achieve output targets. Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with health and PPE standards. Oversee operations using the 4M framework (Man, Machine, Material, Method). Deliver high‑quality production aligned with customer specifications. Monitor machine performance and address breakdowns or non‑conformances swiftly. Manage efficient mould and colour changeovers in line with procedures. Authorise production only after First‑Off Quality approval. Drive efficiency by minimising waste and optimising material usage. Ensure completion and accuracy of operator checks and documentation. Maintain clear and accurate shift reports, including issues and downtime. Lead, coach, and develop team members to enhance performance. Enforce discipline and adherence to company policies and standards. Support continuous improvement using structured problem‑solving methods (e.g. RCA, 5 Why). Ensure accurate system updates and completion of standard work requirement. Education and Experience Minimum Matric (NQF Level4). Diploma or Degree in Production, Operations Management, or related field (advantageous). Minimum5years’ experience in a production supervisory role. Minimum3years’ experience as a blow moulding machine setter (HDPE). Proven experience managing teams, equipment, and production processes in a manufacturing environment. Skills and Knowledge Strong technical knowledge of blow moulding processes (top and bottom blowing). Solid understanding of HDPE materials, moulds, and production methods. Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams. Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills (e.g. RCA, 5 Why, Ishikawa). Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, shift‑based environment. Strong decision‑making and organisational skills. Knowledge of quality standards, safety regulations, and manufacturing best practices. Proficiency in production reporting systems and general computer literacy.
