Role Overview As a Mechanical Draughtsman, you will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings and documentation in support of the engineering team. Working closely with mechanical and design engineers, you will translate concepts and specifications into clear, manufacturable designs across the product range.Key Responsibilities Produce detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). Develop and maintain engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Collaborate with mechanical engineers to translate design concepts into accurate, production-ready documentation. Ensure all drawings comply with relevant engineering standards and internal quality procedures. Manage and maintain drawing registers and document control systems. Support design reviews, incorporating revisions and updates in a timely and accurate manner. Liaise with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure drawings are fit for purpose and meet production requirements. Assist in the preparation of technical packs for suppliers and external stakeholders. Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman or similar technical drawing role. Proficiency in CAD software SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent. Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawing standards (BS/ISO). Ability to read, interpret, and produce complex engineering drawings. Experience working within a manufacturing or product development environment. High attention to detail with a methodical and structured approach to work.
