Job Description We are urgently looking for a DevOps engineer for Standard Bank. The person will be expected to work on a hybrid basis, going to the Rosebank office in JHB (sometimes Simmonds Street but not often) 2x a week. The client is moving towards full time back in office at some point, so we want to be fully transparent about this upfront. Culture fit is extremely important for the hiring manager. Since this is a hybrid role, the person is expected to live and work in JHB. Experience Hands on work experience in a hybrid (AWS) cloud environment preferably in the financial sector with PCI-DSS compliant systems. Implementing CI/CD pipeline automation across functional areas. AWS workload automation (provisioning infrastructure and custom software configuration rollout). Implementing Observability for hybrid cloud-based environments. Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols. Troubleshooting low latency & Java based applications in a SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) context. Familiarity/applying Platform Engineering principles and practices. Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and practices. Technology & Tooling (Mandatory) AWS Services (EC2, RDS - Postgres & Oracle EE, EBS, EKS, ECS, Load Balancing, Secrets Manager, KMS, Service Catalog) AWS CDK Observability tooling - AWS CloudWatch, Splunk / AppDynamics, ELK CI/CD platforms (e.g. Harness, Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.) Operating Systems - Linux and Windows server.
