An established and growing organisation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee and manage the financial accounting function across a diverse group of companies. About the Role Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective financial management, while providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making Responsibilities Prepare consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data across all entities Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights Ensure compliance with SARS regulations, VAT, and tax requirements Accounting & Compliance : Oversee AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll functions Manage and reconcile inter-company transactions Ensure compliance with South African tax legislation Implement and monitor internal controls and financial processes Budgeting & Forecasting : Assist with annual budgets and forecasts Partner with business units to track financial performance Provide financial input to support business strategy and planning Audit & Internal Controls : Lead year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors Prepare audit schedules and required documentation Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements Ensure compliance with local and international reporting standards Manage and mentor junior accounting staff Drive a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement Support team development and performance Ad Hoc & Strategic Support : Provide management reporting and financial insights Support corporate transactions, including M&A or restructuring Assist senior management with strategic finance projects Qualification s Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 3–5 years’ experience, with proven exposure to a group or multi-entity environment VAT, and South African tax legislation Required Skill s Advanced proficiency in Excel Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, SAP, or Pastel Exposure to cloud-based financial tools (e.g., Xero, Dext, and Syft) advantageous Experience with CaseWare or similar reporting tools beneficial Preferred Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders High levels of integrity and professionalism Pay range and compensation packag Full-time, hybrid role.
