Responsibilities Ensure the efficient operating of the Main pump station through daily maintenance and operational tasks. Communication with Irrigation Supervisor, Superintendent Farm operations and maintenance teams. Record dam levels (Hourly) on log sheet and give feedback to Effluent plant operators. Controls Gypsum addition to maintain prescribed S.A.R. Report any problem area and defective equipment to irrigation Supervisor/Superintendent Ensure that good housekeeping at all times. Ensure mill safety standards are maintained. Comply with the 8 Life Saving Rules. Carry out BBS observations and other safety initiatives. Working Conditions 12 hr shift rotation Exposed to noise Exposed dust- Gypsum Exposed to open water bodies Exposed to mill effluent Qualifications Matric (Grade 12). Minimum of 6 months relevant experience. Speak and write clearly in English. Experience in a Skid steer operation will be advantageous. 1st Aid – Level 1, Gas Tester Certificate, BBS, Isolation procedure & competent effluent operator will be advantageous.
