Job Overview Overall responsibility for day‑to‑day operational management of two Management Companies, each with a CIS and an ETF scheme, ensuring effective execution of governance, regulatory and operational requirements under CISCA, FSCA and JSE frameworks. Situated: Cape Town Core Responsibilities Manco Operations Oversee transfer agency of the Manco including financial intermediaries, pension funds and direct discretionary retail clients. Responsible for new fund onboarding, offboarding, ballots, amalgamations and other corporate actions. Responsible for fund pricing governance. Responsible for the fund distribution process. Owner of all regulatory collateral associated with the Manco including MDD’s, GIR’s and Investor Forms. Oversee outsourced service providers as it relates to the Manco, monitoring performance against agreed SLAs and escalating issues where standards are not met. Resolve escalated client queries particularly as it relates to intermediaries. Manage regulatory, statutory and supervisory reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timely submission. Liaise with the Company Secretary to ensure board packs contain the appropriate information for directors to meet their fiduciary duties. Oversee external audit of the CIS funds. Translate regulatory and fiduciary obligations into practical, workable operating processes that support a strong and sustainable control environment. Support first‑line compliance activities, working closely with Compliance to embed regulatory requirements into operational processes. Actively identify and assess operational risks, including emerging risks arising from service providers and operational change. Manage incidents and errors, including root cause analysis, remediation actions and tracking of corrective measures to closure. Monitor key controls and support remediation where control weaknesses are identified. Manage the Section 104 Manco bank accounts, including oversight of inflow account reconciliations, timely resolution of reconciling items, and escalation of aged or unexplained items in line with control and reporting requirements. Work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure clear accountability and effective oversight. Enable the Management Company to meet its fiduciary duties, protect investors, and support broader business objectives through sound operational execution. Team management to deliver on responsibilities, knowledge transfer and mentoring of juniors. Skills and Experience Required Accountancy qualification, CA or equivalent. Investment or Tax qualification, CFA, CFP or equivalent. Regulatory Knowledge e.g. RE5 exam. Asset Management tax and accounting specific product knowledge. Experience in a similar role for a minimum of 5 years. Prior experience in pricing, NAV oversight, fund accounting beneficial.
