Junior Electrical Engineer (GMR 2.1 Support) Location: New Germany, Durban (KZN)Industry: Property | Energy Wheeling | Embedded Generation About the Role A dynamic property and energy wheeling group based in New Germany is seeking a hands‑on Junior Electrical Engineer to support the appointed GCC (Government Certificate of Competency) / GMR 2.1 Appointment responsible engineer. This is a site‑driven, practical role , not a desk‑based design position. You will work directly under the responsible engineer, supporting electrical compliance, infrastructure performance, and energy initiatives across multiple operational sites — while developing toward future GMR 2.1 competency. Key Responsibilities Support the GCC / GMR 2.1 appointee in ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act Assist with site inspections, audits, and compliance reporting Participate in hands‑on fault‑finding and troubleshooting Support preventative and reactive maintenance planning Assist with implementation of energy solutions (solar, generators, backup systems) Work across multiple sites managing electrical infrastructure Liaise with contractors, technicians, and service providers on‑site Maintain technical documentation, compliance records, and asset registers Monitor system performance, downtime, and operational efficiency Minimum Requirements BSc / BEng / BTech in Electrical Engineering 0–3 years' experience in a practical/operational environment (internships included) Exposure to industrial, manufacturing, facilities, or site‑based electrical work Basic understanding of electrical systems, distribution, and safety standards Willingness to work on‑site and get involved in operational environments Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between sites Non‑Negotiable Fit This role is not suitable for candidates with purely academic or design‑based experience.
