As part of your portfolio as Manager: Wallet Analytics, you will be responsible for leading wallet-focused analytics, pricing insight, forecasting, and performance decision support across Group Fintech, using data, advanced analytics, and commercial insight to improve wallet growth, customer activity, revenue performance, and profitability. The role provides analytical leadership across wallet consumer and agent economics, transaction behaviour, pricing and tariff analysis, customer engagement, and business planning. The incumbent is accountable for generating actionable insight from wallet transactions, customer and agent behaviour, and financial performance data in order to improve wallet adoption, retention, monetisation, and operational efficiency across Group Fintech and its Opcos. Strategy Development and Implementation Support the implementation of the Group Fintech wallet analytics strategy in line with the broader Decision & Analytics and commercial agendas. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to business stakeholders through advanced analysis of wallet performance, customer behaviour, transaction trends, and pricing outcomes. Translate wallet business priorities into analytical frameworks, KPI definitions, pricing models, and forecasting approaches that support strategic and operational decision-making. Contribute to the development of future‑fit wallet analytics capabilities, including advanced customer segmentation, predictive modelling, dynamic pricing insight, and monetisation analytics. Deliver analytical insights and recommendations in succinct and compelling presentations for business leaders, Exco stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams. Operational Delivery Wallet Performance Analytics Analyse digital wallet transactions including deposits, withdrawals, peer‑to‑peer transfers, merchant transactions, agent activity, bill payments, airtime, and related basic services to identify trends, pain points, and growth opportunities. Monitor wallet performance across key business metrics including customer activity, transaction volumes and values, engagement, usage frequency, retention, and revenue contribution. Perform detailed customer and agent segmentation to identify high-value users, dormant users, churn risk, underserved segments, and monetisation opportunities. Conduct cohort analysis, lifecycle analysis, and wallet journey analysis to understand retention, customer lifetime value, and behavioural patterns. Generate regular insights on wallet adoption, activity, and performance across markets and recommend actions to improve business outcomes. Pricing, Tariff and Revenue Analytics Support and lead wallet pricing and tariff analysis for both wallet consumers and agents. Analyse the impact of wallet pricing structures, fee design, commissions, and tariff changes on customer behaviour, transaction frequency, revenue, and margin performance. Identify revenue leakages, pricing inefficiencies, arbitrage risks, and opportunities for pricing optimisation. Work with Finance and Commercial teams to support business planning, revenue modelling, wallet projections, and monetisation strategies. Provide analytics to support tariff reviews, pricing decisions, and wallet profitability management across markets. Business Planning and Forecasting Support business planning processes for wallet products and services by developing projections, growth scenarios, and data-based forecasts. Develop and maintain wallet forecasting models covering user growth, transaction volumes, values, revenues, and activity metrics. Analyse the drivers of wallet growth and performance to support planning assumptions and financial decision-making. Provide scenario-based insights to support business strategy, target setting, and growth acceleration decisions. Advanced Analytics and Insight Generation Stay abreast of industry standards, emerging tools, and advanced analytics methodologies relevant to wallet growth and fintech performance management. Analyse structured and unstructured data to identify meaningful trends, patterns, and behaviours that inform strategic and tactical actions. Apply advanced analytics methodologies to solve wallet-related business problems and improve decision quality. Challenge assumptions and support the business in identifying root causes of performance issues or missed targets. Extract meaning from complex datasets and convert them into clear, commercially relevant insight for business consumption. Data Mart, Reporting and Visualization Design, maintain, and improve wallet-related data marts and analytical datasets to support reporting and performance analysis. Support ETL and structured data preparation processes to ensure data is suitable for wallet analytics and business reporting. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and usability across analytical and reporting outputs. Develop interactive dashboards, scorecards, and reports to provide stakeholders with timely, relevant, and actionable wallet performance information. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver insight-led reporting products. Data Governance and Quality Assurance Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and controls to ensure high‑quality wallet datasets for analysis and reporting. Work with relevant data and technology teams to investigate and resolve data issues affecting wallet performance reporting. Collaborate with IT and Data Governance teams to ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and governance standards. Automation and Continuous Improvement Drive automation of wallet data workflows, reporting processes, and analytics outputs to improve efficiency, repeatability, and scalability. Optimise data pipelines, analytical routines, dashboards, and reporting processes to improve performance and usability. Identify opportunities to improve the quality, speed, and strategic value of wallet insight generation. Governance Strategic Meetings Set up and participate in ad hoc operational meetings as required. Participate and provide input in strategic meetings relating to wallet performance, pricing, forecasting, and business growth. Perform evaluation baselines of key performance indicators and wallet performance metrics. Request relevant budget for internal projects and new analytics initiatives where required. Facilitate preparation of proposals on change initiatives, pricing reviews, reporting frameworks, policies, and procedures. Escalations Manage and resolve escalations that have impact on the critical path of service delivery or decision-making. Escalate issues that will result in severe time, scope, productivity, cost, resource, or reputational impact. Manage and provide solutions to cross-functional issues affecting wallet reporting, data quality, pricing, forecasting, or performance visibility. Functional Tactical Support review of projects initiated internally or globally that have wallet analytics implications. Provide input into objectives, targets, and budgets for the sub-function as applicable. Identify and document key risks, issues, and dependencies and set mitigation actions. Facilitate required sign-off or decision support for tactical changes relating to wallet analytics and reporting. Performance Execute in alignment with the sub-functional Decision & Analytics strategy. Collaborate with other Group Fintech functions to ensure wallet analytics supports commercial, product, and financial priorities. Continuously monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement in the wallet business. Reporting Report on a periodic basis on progress made within the function and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation. Prepare ad hoc reports and analytical deep dives on wallet performance, user behaviour, tariff outcomes, and projections as required. Support executive and functional reporting requirements across Group Fintech and Opcos. The “Must-haves” we look for in an incumbent Education Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, Informatics, Engineering, Economics, or related field Postgraduate qualification in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Finance, or related field advantageous Certification or training in SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, advanced analytics, pricing analytics, or forecasting advantageous Experience Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in advanced data analytics, business intelligence, commercial analytics, pricing, or performance analytics Strong experience in SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent data analysis and visualisation tools Experience with database systems such as Oracle, Teradata, Snowflakeor similar, and cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Experience in telecommunications, fintech, financial services, payments, or consumer digital businesses advantageous At least 3 years’ experience in a non-traditional fintech, consumer marketing, digital financial services, or payments environment Experience supporting pricing / tariff analytics, business planning, and forecasting preferred Experience working across emerging markets and multicultural teams advantageous Willing and flexible to travel within Africa and the Middle East English required; French advantageous. #J-18808-Ljbffr
