Job Purpose The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of a technical training centre. This role ensures that training operations run efficiently and align with engineering, manufacturing, and safety standards, while maintaining a structured, compliant, and well-controlled environment for employees, learners, and contractors. Key Responsibilities Operational Management Oversee daily training centre operations to ensure uninterrupted delivery Ensure facilities, workshops, and equipment are prepared according to schedules Monitor attendance, training timetables, and operational processes Identify risks and implement corrective actions Training Support Coordinate logistics for technical, safety, and skills development programmes Support facilitators and assessors with operational needs Maintain accurate training records and documentation Liaise with HR and administration teams Health & Safety Compliance Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards Conduct safety inspections and report incidents or risks Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements Monitor PPE usage in training environments Facilities & Asset Control Manage training equipment, tools, and asset registers Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and calibration Ensure high standards of housekeeping and workshop discipline People Supervision Supervise support staff (e.g., admin, reception, cleaning) Allocate tasks and monitor performance Address minor conduct issues and support staff onboarding Stakeholder Coordination Act as the main operational contact for internal and external stakeholders Coordinate audits, site visits, and training schedules Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve operational issues Compliance & Reporting Maintain records for audits and inspections Ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards (e.g., QCTO, SETA) Compile and submit operational reports Requirements Qualifications Matric (Grade 12) required Qualification in Operations, Technical Administration, or similar advantageous Health & Safety training advantageous Qualified Artisan preferred Assessor/Moderator registration (QCTO/NAMB) preferred Experience Minimum 3 years in an operational supervisory role Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or technical environments essential Exposure to training centres or skills development programmes advantageous Skills & Competencies Strong planning and coordination skills Knowledge of health and safety in technical environments Ability to manage operations, assets, and people simultaneously Strong administrative and reporting skills High attention to detail and compliance focus Proficient in MS Office
