Our client, a leading regulatory authority in the South African financial services sector, is seeking a Divisional Head within its Policy, Statistics and Industry Support function. The role focuses on providing strategic and technical leadership across accounting, auditing and industry analysis. You will guide the application of relevant standards, support supervisory teams across banking, insurance and financial market infrastructures, and oversee industry reporting frameworks. Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the division in alignment with organisational objectives. Develop and implement operational and strategic plans, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical outputs. Oversee the interpretation and application of accounting, auditing, and prudential standards across regulated sectors. Provide expert technical guidance on IFRS (including IFRS 9 and IFRS 17) and auditing matters affecting regulated institutions. Drive industry analysis through financial sector reporting, publications and data frameworks. Oversee frameworks relating to industry disclosures, including Pillar 3 reporting. Engage with and influence key stakeholders, including regulators, industry bodies, and global standard setters. Ensure governance, risk management and compliance within the division. Lead, develop and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and continuous improvement. Support organisational governance structures through expert input on accounting and auditing matters. Job Experience and Skills Required: Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or Fellow of a recognised actuarial body. 1012 years experience within the financial services or regulatory environment. Minimum 5 years experience in a senior management or leadership role. Deep knowledge of:Accounting and auditing standards; Financial sector regulation and prudential frameworks; Financial markets and instruments; and Risk, governance and compliance environments. Proven ability to provide strategic and thought leadership. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability (local and international). Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
