GENERAL ASSISTANT (SHIPPING) – SA STEELWORKS AIRPORT INDUSTRIA - CAPE TOWN The SA Steelworks Shipping department requires a committed, hardworking and motivated individual to join their team. The successful applicant will be responsible for grinding of billets in preparation for export, assisting the shipping team when required, ensuring housekeeping of workstations, assisting with ad‑hoc duties, and performing any other work tasks as operationally required. Responsibilities Grinding of billets using a big angle grinder Assisting the shipping team when required Housekeeping – ensuring the cleanliness of all workstations and areas Assisting with ad‑hoc duties Other work tasks as operationally required Qualifying Requirements Grade 12 Knowledge of hand tools Experience working with power tools Previous experience in the same or similar role (advantageous) Familiarity with health and safety rules and regulations Qualifying Attributes Hardworking and self‑motivated Willing to work overtime and weekends when required Physically fit (able to handle materials, tools, etc.) Able to work in a team and independently Honest and reliable Willing to learn Punctual Ability to multitask and manage a demanding workload in a pressurized environment Please note that the successful candidate will receive a formal, written offer of employment after all applicable pre‑employment checks have been completed.
