Senior Mining Engineering Consultant – RPO Recruitment 2026 Type FULL TIME Job Overview RPO Recruitment’s client, a leading mining company based in Centurion, Gauteng, is seeking a Senior Mining Engineering Consultant. This is a permanent, full‑time role offering exposure to a variety of commodities and projects across South Africa and internationally. Periodic travel to mine sites is required. Key Responsibilities Conduct advanced mine planning and engineering studies. Develop and interpret mining models, including block modelling and re‑blocking. Prepare Mine Works Programmes (MWP), Life of Mine (LOM) studies, and short‑ and medium‑term plans. Perform pit and stope optimisation, mine design and scheduling. Select and optimise equipment, model costs and analyse operations. Carry out technical audits, due‑diligence assessments and support permit applications. Provide on‑site contractor management and operational support. Drive productivity improvements and equipment utilisation. Lead technical project delivery and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Prepare technical reports, CPRs and inputs for financial models. Facilitate workshops and engage with clients and stakeholders. Mentor and develop junior team members. Requirements BEng in Mining Engineering (preferred) or strong mine‑planning background. 5–15 years of relevant mining industry experience. Consulting experience is highly advantageous. Proficiency with mining software such as Surpac, Deswik, MineRP or similar. Professional registration as a PR Eng is advantageous but not essential. Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to mine sites. Strong analytical, commercial and entrepreneurial mindset. Excellent project management, communication and client‑engagement skills.
