Role Purpose: To oversee branch performance, manage client relationships, and align operational activities with organizational objectives, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth. Key Responsibilities: Strategic & Financial Management Develop and implement annual branch strategy aligned to budget. Monitor and report monthly performance against targets. Achieve and exceed branch budgets and KPIs. Deliver detailed branch performance analysis and flash reporting. Client & Business Development Conduct regular client visits to strengthen relationships and identify new opportunities. Lead gained/lost business reviews with sales teams. Ensure accurate call reporting and weekly sales meetings. Drive business expansion through proactive market engagement. Operational Excellence Oversee import/export operations with a focus on groupage shipments. Ensure compliance with customs, trade regulations, and internal procedures. Respond to escalated queries promptly and resolve within agreed timelines. Maintain IT and communication system integrity. Hold monthly trade lane and team meetings to align operational goals. Culture & HR Accountability Drive quarterly performance discussions and deliverables. Manage recruitment, selection, and staff changes per HR policy. Ensure orientation and training of new employees. Oversee branch training and development initiatives. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of freight management systems and groupage operations. Broad understanding of Finance, HR, IT, Sales & Marketing. Inâdepth knowledge of freight transportation and logistics processes. Familiarity with labour legislation and compliance requirements. Commercial insurance and loss control knowledge. Advanced managerial, problemâsolving, and presentation skills. Ability to interpret financial information and manage people effectively. Minimum Requirements: Minimum Grade 12. Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Freight, or Transportation (NQF Level 5). At least 7 years experience in a freight environment. 510 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
