It manages projects from pre-commissioning through to final energisation, performance testing, and commercial operation. The Role: Commissioning Manager Utility Scale PV & BESS Projects The Commissioning Manager leads and manages all commissioning activities for utility-scale PV and BESS projects to ensure systems are commissioned safely and efficiently. The role serves as a key technical interface between the Owners Engineer team, EPC contractors, OEMs, grid operators, and client representatives. The focus is on ensuring compliance with project specifications, grid code requirements, and contractual obligations. Key Responsibilities Lead commissioning activities with a minimum of 68 years of proven experience in utility-scale PV and BESS projects. Develop and manage commissioning strategies, procedures, and schedules. Coordinate commissioning teams, OEMs, EPC contractors, and client stakeholders. Ensure compliance with technical specifications, grid requirements, and contractual obligations. Oversee energisation activities and performance testing. Manage system integration testing, SCADA verification, and functional testing. Review commissioning documentation, test records, and turnover packages. Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning phases. About You Minimum 68 years of proven commissioning experience in utility-scale PV and BESS projects. Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering. Registration with or eligibility for registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Demonstrated experience in Owners Engineer (OE) project environments. Strong understanding of grid integration, protection systems, SCADA, and power system commissioning. Knowledge of South African Grid Code requirements. Strong understanding of HSE and commissioning safety procedures. Willingness to travel extensively to project sites.
