This role forms part of the Events team at Village n Life, based in Camps Bay, Cape Town. The Role As Event Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving event and banqueting revenue while overseeing the full coordination and delivery of group, corporate and private events across selected Village n Life properties. This is a commercially focused role that balances sales, planning and on-the-ground execution. You’ll convert enquiries into confirmed business, develop event products and packages, manage key client relationships and ensure every event is delivered smoothly and professionally. The role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, understands how events impact the wider hotel operation and can keep standards high when pressure is on. Key Responsibilities Drive sales and bookings for all events and banqueting products Convert enquiries into confirmed business through quotations, contracts and follow-ups Develop and refine event offerings, packages and seasonal promotions Prepare budgets, forecasts and sales targets for events and functions Conduct site inspections and client meetings Coordinate all confirmed events from planning through to execution Distribute accurate event details to all relevant departments Work closely with Operations, F&B, Kitchen, Front Office and Finance Manage relationships with key suppliers, partners and service providers Oversee weddings and private events, including full coordination Monitor event profitability, costs and operational efficiency Compile regular reports on bookings, revenue and performance Ensure compliance with health, safety and fire regulations Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction and resolve issues promptly Represent the events function during senior duty or operational shifts when required What We’re Looking For Grade 12 or equivalent Diploma or qualification in Events, Hospitality or Food & Beverage preferred Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar events or banqueting role within hospitality Wedding coordination experience is essential Strong understanding of hotel events, banqueting and conferencing operations Confident with quoting, contracting and budget management Comfortable working with PMS or event systems (Opera advantageous) Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail Calm under pressure with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously Clear communicator who builds strong relationships across departments Flexible to work weekends, evenings and public holidays as required What We Offer Career growth within a dynamic, multi-property hospitality group Exposure to a wide range of events across hotels, leisure and lifestyle venues Opportunity to shape and grow the group’s events offering Competitive package aligned with experience #J-18808-Ljbffr
