About the job Chief Financial Officer ( CFO ) (Automotive) A well-established organisation is seeking the services of a CFO for the Woodmead, Johannesburg area. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of automotive retail / wholesale experience and have qualified as a CA(SA). Strong operational experience is essential. Salary: Market Related Min Requirements Bcom Accounting or similar Degree Admission to the board as a chartered accountant (CA(SA); CIMA) Min of 5 Years motor retail and wholesale experience Must be Operationally strong Adept at Financial reporting Valid driver’s license Knowledge of strategic planning and management skills In-depth understanding of organisational policy conceptualisation, analysis and implementation Minimum of 15 years experience in accounting or finance 5 years experience in senior management Experience in partnering with an executive team Determine and compile the annual budget in collaboration with the CEO Implement, control and manage the resources and procedures within approved budget guidelines Compile and present budget reports regarding expenditure to keep the Finance and Risk Committee appropriately informed of the company’s budget position Approve all agreements concerning financial obligations in the company Ensure systems for reconciliation and reporting on organisational expenses Report financial results to the management team and to the board Oversee the provision of timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts Interpret and execute the company’s strategy into a departmental plan with specific objectives and targets and communicate to the team Compile, implement and enforce departmental procedures in support of the company’s organisational systems; evaluate and optimise these systems Provide leadership in the development of and the continuous evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives; assist in formulating the organisation’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives within the company Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans Develop performance measures that support the organisation’s strategic direction Financial Operations Compile and present reports at management and stakeholder meetings Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities Oversee the preparation of all financial statements, invoices and proposals Conduct periodic financial analyses to identify and resolve issues, gaps or variances Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks Oversee that a fraud prevention plan is implemented and operational Construct and monitor reliable control systems Oversee that cash flow is appropriate and well managed for the company’s operations Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management register for the organisation and conduct periodic audits to ensure risk compliance Lead the organisation’s risk mitigation strategies #J-18808-Ljbffr
